Journalist and blogger Abdel Hafez Ahmed Mohammed Moojab says Yemeni Military Police beat him on August 22, 2010, as he covered police beating the crowd with sticks during the distribution of Ramadan breakfast (Iftar) meals. Moojab has been reportedly beaten while in custody, held for few hours inside the building of Yemen Economic Corporation; his camera was also seized. The incident took place in the city of al-Hadida, west of the capital Sanaa where the governmental Yemen Economic Corporation had begun handing out Iftar meals for poor people.
