First victim of the so-called cybercrime law updated in November 2012. The new law prohibits sarcasm directed at UAE rulers and even political satire.

Abdulla Al-Hadidi was arrested on March 22 on charges of "spreading false news" on Twitter.

The father of Abdulla Al-Hadidi is being tried along with 93 others accused of sedition.
