Anas Maarawi is a Syrian blogger who, in addition to writing a popular personal blog, founded Ardroid, the first Arabic website specializing in the Android OS for smartphones.

Maarawi was arrested on 1 July 2011 in Kafarsousah, Damascus.

On Sunday, 28th of August 2011, Maarawi was freed after spending 59 days in detention.
