South African blogger Donn Edwards, has been sued for alleged defamation by Quality Vacation Club (QVC) after blogging about their business practice and his experiences with the timeshare company. According to the Independent Online, "In the document handed to the court, the applicants asked the Johannesburg high court to interdict Edwards from publishing any defamatory material that would further harm their reputation, and wanted the court to grant payment of R1,525 million in favour of QVC, R100 000 in favour of the two trustees and R154 000 in favour of the trust. "

On 14 January 09, Donn Edwards posted the folowing update on his Facebook support group page: "‘Hello everyone, the case has been SETTLED in a way that benefits everyone. The settlement is amicable and we had a meeting at the Protea Hotel in Midrand over breakfast and coffee. All parties win, and I thank you all for your support. I have made some new friendships through this ordeal, and it is good to know that the ordeal is over.’"
