Other arrests: Dr.Hesam Firoozi was arrested in March 2008. His crimes, according to the 6th Branch of the Revolutionary Court in Iran, included activity against national security, the provocation of public opinion, the spreading of falsehood, and providing shelter and medical treatment to political prisoners. He was released in May 2009.

Dr. Hesam Firoozi, a human rights activist, blogger, and physician who has many Iranian political prisoners among his patients, was arrested by intelligence agents on March 3, 2010. According to a RAHANA reporter, Dr. Firoozi was arrested at his home at night after he returned from a visit to the house of Alireza Firoozi, his nephew who has also been detained by Iranian authorities.
