A Muslim poet in China. He was interrogated by police because he has signed the statement demanding the release of Uighur professor of Minzu University of China and founder of Uighurbiz, IIham Tohti.

According to The Writers in Prison Committee of International PEN "Ilham Tohti was arrested in Beijing on 6 July 2009, after speaking out on the ethnic unrest which broke out in Urumqi on 5 July 2009. He was initially held under house arrest, before being transferred to an unknown location where he was held incommunicado for interrogation." Ilhamwas release on 22 August 2009.
