Global Voices contributor and 2011 Nobel Peace Prize nominee Lina Ben Mhenni was attacked by police in Tunis on August 5, 2012. In a post on her own blog (available in English, French, and Arabic), Lina recounted her story.

Ben Mhenni wrote that she knew one of the (plainclothes) police officers and that friends later told her that her attackers numbered around ten in total.
