The website, Monaco Politic Circus, which was meant to imitate the famous French satirical political weekly newspaper Charlie Hebdo, has been suspended.
Marc was arrested on Monday August, 6th, 2007 and was then interrogated for seven and a half hours by police who are believed to have suspected the cartoonist was involved in a plot to damage the monarchy. (Belfast Telegraph)
The offending website was shut down within days, he was sacked from his day job as a cathedral organist and now faces the likelihood of six months in prison and a hefty fine.
In 2007, a libel and injury case against famed organist Marc Giacone, who had poked fun at the prince and other officials on his website, resulted in a 2,000 euro fine. Internet access is not restricted. (UNHCR)
