On September 8, 2008, Moroccan blogger and journalist Mohammed Erraji (also Raji) was arrested in his home in Agadir for writing an article on online Arabic news site Hespress criticizing the Moroccan monarchy.

Erraji, a blogger and journalist, wrote an article (see translation here) criticizing the monarchy's charitable acts.  Morocco's press code prohibits, among other things, criticism of the monarchy.  A campaign for Erraji's release was coordinated by DigiActive.

On September 12, 2008, Erraji was provisionally released, and on September 18, the appeals court of Agadir overturned their original decision and abandoned charges against Erraji.
