Pateando Piedras
Blog: www.pateandopiedras.net
A well known blogger, Twitter user and citizen journalist member of the community site Pateando Piedras (www.pateandopiedras.net & @PateandoPiedras) has been threatened by a member of the Mexican Government in Mexico City for his long time coverage of abuses committed by the exiting Mexico's City government, like protests crackdowns and Twitter user trolling. The threats started after a note published on the community site exposed a series of tweets made by the City's Social Communications Director where he congratulated a bureaucrat for a beating an activist, analyst and Twitter user Andrés Lajous after a debate on the "supervia" back in 2010.
After Pateando Piedras' coverage of the protests and riots during Enrique Peña Nieto's inauguration, this site member began receiving threats again. His concern is that by keeping on reporting police brutality on protesters and other matters that the government may find "uncomfortable", he could be detained. He has already been summoned twice to the Major's Office.
