Sardasht Osman was a student blogger in Iraq who contributed to Ashtiname and news websites Sbei, Awene, Hawlati, and Lvinpress. He was shot to death on May 5, 2010, by unknown assailants. Osman, 23, had written a series of articles concerning corruption in the regional government of Kurdistan. Shortly before his death, it was reported that he had posted a satirical article where he fantasized about how much better his life would be if he was in love with the President of the Kurdistan Regional Government's daughter.
